Why relaunch

A book club should change more than your reading list.

The value is not proving you finished the book. It is seeing an idea differently because someone else tested it against real work and real experience.

A familiar book club question

“What did you think of the book?”

Interesting, but easy to leave as conversation only.

Where TBBC starts

“If this idea is right, what would you do differently on Monday?”

Now the book becomes a tool for decisions, disagreement, reflection, and action.

The TBBC loop

Read. Discuss. Challenge. Apply.

A simple structure designed to move a useful idea out of the book and into your work.

01

Read

Engage with one selected book and notice the ideas that challenge your assumptions.

02

Discuss

Put a real professional tension on the table instead of recapping chapters.

03

Challenge

Compare different industries, roles, cultures, and experiences. There is no perfect answer.

04

Apply

Leave with one experiment, decision, or behaviour to test within seven days.

What a Gathering feels like

Start with a tension, not a summary.

Here is a sample of the kind of experience the relaunched TBBC is being built around.

The room matters

Different careers. Different cultures. Better questions.

The point is not to meet people who think exactly like you. It is to hear how the same idea changes when it reaches a different role, company, industry, or life experience.

This isn’t our first chapter

500+ members. Years of conversations. One community ready for its next chapter.

The original TBBC proved that people in Taipei want more than a reading list. They want a reason to sit down, exchange perspectives, and make useful ideas more practical. The relaunch keeps that foundation and raises the bar for what happens in the room.

Why I’m bringing TBBC back

The books were always useful. The conversations were the part that stayed with me.

When I started Taipei Business Book Club, the books gave us a reason to get together. But the best part was what happened around them. People from different industries and backgrounds interpreted the same idea differently, challenged each other, and often left seeing a problem in a new way.

That is the part I want to build around this time. The new TBBC will still begin with great business books, but the goal is not to finish more books. It is to create better conversations, stronger thinking, and practical ideas people can use in their work.

I’m rebuilding the club deliberately, and I’d like the next version to be shaped by the people who become part of it.
